The Late Barry Goldwater said in 1964 when we accepted the Party’s nomination for President, “This Republican Party is a Party for free men, not for blind followers, and not for conformists.” The Late Goldwater further talked about how the Republican Party was:
* Private Property
* Diversity by Opportunity
* Stable and responsible monetary and fiscal policies
* Law and Order
* Government Close to the People
* Difference in thought
* Protect the Constitution
* Protect America and our Freedoms
The Republican Party is the Party of Abraham Lincoln, who protected the homeland and humbly and ambitiously created opportunity for so many people with the Emancipation Proclamation. The Republican Party is the Party of Theodore Roosevelt, who believed that monopolies were bad for the economy and that it was our duty to protect the beauty and nature of our Earth, while not forgetting about the progress of industry. The Republican Party is the Party of Calvin Coolidge, who called for peace continuation of peace with Europe, limiting government handouts, and extending tax cuts for all Americans. The Republican Party is the Party of Ronald Reagan, who once said, “government that governs least, governs best.” The same Party of Reagan ended the Cold War.
Goldwater summed up our Party best. Balance, diversity, and creative difference.
Creative differences separate the Conservatives, the Moderates, the Progressives, the Libertarians, and everyone else. But the differences bring us together. Diversity with unity.
