Republican Senate candidate Johnny Isakson will speak to the UGA College Republicans Monday, February 9th at 4:00PM in room 137 of the Tate Student Center.
In 1996, Mr. Isakson served as the Georgia Chairman for the Bob Dole for President Campaign. Also in 1996, Governor Zell Miller appointed Johnny as the first Republican Chairman of the Georgia Board of Education. Johnny is serving his third term in the United States Congress. He was first elected to Congress in 1999, when he won a 6-candidate special election to replace former House Speaker Newt Gingrich with 65 percent of the vote.
“This is a special opportunity for all students,” says Andrew Dill, President of the UGA College Republicans. “Johnny has been a great leader for Georgia and we are excited about hearing him at the university.
Johnny Isakson’s visit is the beginning of an exciting month of events for the College Republicans. Notable, on February 18th, Republican Senator candidate Mac Collins will be speaking to the College Republicans.
This event is free and open to the public. A question and answer session will follow Mr. Isakson’s speech.
