Spring 2010 Washington Semester Program Applications are Now Being Accepted

linksThe University of Georgia Washington Semester Program is accepting applications for Spring 2010. The Washington Semester is the University’s only DC-based program that is open to undergraduate students in all colleges and schools at UGA, and its only comprehensive program, combining coursework, internships and a residential living environment. In the last four semesters, more than 60 students representing over 20 academic majors were selected to participate in the program and interned in locations ranging from congressional offices and think-tanks to museums and non-profit organizations. To be eligible, you must be in good disciplinary standing and at least a junior (by credit hours) with a minimum 3.0 GPA by the term you will participate.

For more information about the program, I encourage students to attend an information session on September 8, 2009 at 5:00pm in room 250 of the Miller Learning Center. Past participants will discuss their experiences and answer your questions. For detailed information about the program, please visit our website (http://www.uga.edu/dcsemester), become a fan of the UGA Washington Semester Program on Facebook and follow us on twitter @ugadcsemester.

The priority deadline for Spring 2010 is September 15, 2009. While applicants who submit by this deadline will receive first priority, applications will be accepted until the program reaches its occupancy capacity. There is high demand for the program and if you are interested, I encourage you to submit an application by the priority deadline.
