Superintendent Kathy Cox, THIS Wednesday!

This Wednesday in SLC 214 at 7 p.m. Superintendent of Education Kathy Cox will be updating UGA students on education policy in Georgia. She will focus on the teaching profession as well as the need for a more rigorous curriculum in science and math. We will also have an update on our local elections, including a visit from our local State Senator.

Come meet State Senator Bill Cowsert and help celebrate the beginning of his general campaign THIS Wednesday, September 10th. We will be eating lasagna and salad for dinner.

Feel free to bring your bathing suit and towel and jump in the pool. We will also discuss plenty of opportunities to gain campaign experience right herein Athens.

Mock General Assembly

Our next meeting, Wedndesday 26th, will be in the fashion of a mock GA General Assembly. We will have several pieces of "legislation" to pass or fail. Senator Bill Cowsert will be our presiding officer for the evening This is always a favorite event and we encourage y’all to come out and pass some bills, see the legislative process, and meet Senator Cowsert! Last Wednesday the first meeting of the semester for the University of Georgia College Republicans drew a standing-room only crowd and a variety of distinguished guests from Georgia politics including U.S. Congressional Representative Paul Broun along with State Senator Bill Cowsert. This Wednesday March 8 in room 207 of the SLC we will hear from candidate for State Senate Mr. Bill Cowsert.

Mr. Cowsert is a product of public schools and a graduate of Presbyterian College and the University of Georgia School of Law. He and his wife, the former Amy Argo, live in Athens, and are the proud parents of 3 children: Will, Bob, and Caty.

Mr. and Mrs. Cowsert are active in a number of community service and social organizations. Mr. [...]
