Republican Scott Ballard is the District Attorney of the Griffin Judicial Circuit, which includes all of Fayette, Spalding, Pike and Upson Counties. As a district attorney, Ballard is in charge of representing the State of Georgia in criminal trials.

Scott Ballard graduated from Fayette County High School in 1977. In 1981, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with an AB degree in English. He then went to Florida State University where he earned his
