US Congressman Max Burns to Address UGA College Republicans

House Representative Max Burns of the Twelfth District will speak to the UGA College Republicans Thursday, April 8th at 6:00PM in Tate Center Reception Hall.

Max Burns was first elected to Congress November 5, 2002. As a member of the House of Representatives from Georgia’s new Twelfth Congressional District, Max serves on the Agriculture, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Education and the Workforce committees. Prior to his election to Congress, Max was elected to the Screven County Commission in 1993 and served until 1998; he served as Chairman in his 1997-1998 term.

“This is a great opportunity for all students who want to learn about current issues,” says Andrew Dill, Chairman of the UGA College Republicans. “Max has been an influential leader in the House of Representatives and we are excited about having him spend time with us at the University.”

Max Burns’s visit is the beginning of an exciting month of events for the College Republicans. On April 14th, Bush/Cheney’s Southeast Campaign Chairman Ralph Reed will be speaking to the College Republicans about the upcoming elections in the fall.

This event is free and open to the public. A question and answer session will follow Mr. Burns’s speech. Pizza and drinks will also be provided for those who attend this exciting event!
