Nov. 7: Professor Panel on the election results
The UGACRs are excited to host Dr. Charles Bullock, III and Professor Joseph Watson!
Dr. Bullock is the Richard B. Russell Chair in Political Science and is a Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor. He has been at the University of Georgia since 1968 with the exception of one year when he served as legislative assistant to Congressman Bill Stuckey and two years when he was a professor at the University of Houston. In 2005 and 2009 he was a senior fellow at Oxford University’s Rothermere American Institute. In 2015, Dr. Bullock was named University Professor, an honor bestowed on faculty who have had a significant impact on the University of Georgia beyond normal academic responsibilities.
Joseph Watson, Jr. is the inaugural Carolyn Caudell Tieger Professor of Public Affairs Communications at Grady College, where he oversees the Public Affairs Communications program. Watson brings 20 years of experience in public affairs. He served as an appointee in the George W. Bush White House, where he led the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s domestic policy office. Professor Watson also served as Legislative Director and Legislative Counsel to former U.S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald (R–Ill.). He holds a law degree from Harvard Law School.
*We will also hold nominations for UGACRs elected office, including for Chairman, Vice–Chairman, Financial Secretary, and Membership Director.*
